We had a good turn out for our second AGM on Sunday the 12th June 
2011. The weather was poor but, we still had a good time. We would 
like to thank all those who braved the weather to attend.

Our main raffle prize "A Trip on the Greta Thames Sailing Barge" was 
won by Dave and Di they had a wonderful day out. Dave and Di said," We 
had a brilliant seven hours at sea, full of interest and fun, with 
very congenial company. We took our grandson with us too. He enjoyed 
it so much that he didn't want to get off at the end. Highlights for 
him were the seals we were taken to see and two, on board, cute little 
dogs."

We would like to thank the Greta's Skipper - Steve Norris for this 
generous raffle prize.

Hello! Steve,
          I was on Greta yesterday with my Uncle Norman & a friend who's 
Dad was celebrating his 80th. I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU!! on 
behalf off all of us.
We all enjoyed our day & feel we were very lucky with the weather 
considering how it has been of late, i was especially impressed with 
your casual approach! (not constantly pointing out all sorts of health 
& safety issues) & treating us like grown ups rather than idiots!! I 
also liked the constant cups of tea, & best of all THE DOGS!!

Hi Penni

We felt that we really should write to let you know that we thoroughly 
enjoyed our trip on the Greta on Tuesday 14 June. It was an experience 
we are very pleased not to have missed. In fact we are considering 
taking another trip next year.

Steve and Robert were very helpful and interesting when answering our 
many questions. They are obviously both extremely experienced seamen 
and we felt quite comfortable and safe whilst in their care. Steve 
also kept us well topped up with drinks throughout the day.  Ludo and 
Alfie were very friendly, especially when we started eating our lunch.

We have attached a selection of eight pictures we took on the day and 
hope that you find them interesting. We actually took a total of 85!

Once we were back on dry land, we felt that we did not thank Steve and 
Robert properly and hope that this little note will put that right.

Dear Steve,

Just a line on behalf of my son and myself for a truly great day out
yesterday (Weds). We both really enjoyed it, and for my son in particular, who did dinghy sailing at school up to a couple of years ago but then had to give it up, it was great to get back on the water and experience a rather larger craft. We also appreciated the utterly professional, yet totally relaxed atmosphere on board. I very much hope that we will be able to sail with you again at some point in the future.
