The non-sailing part of the Whitstable Regatta 2009 takes place on Sat 8 & Sun 9 August 2009 and will be held on Tankerton Slopes.

Whitstable Summer Weekend Park and Ride – 2009
Canterbury City Council, in conjunction with the Kent Messenger Group, George Wilson Holdings and Kent Top Travel are providing a weekend Park and Ride service during the summer.
This will be available on Saturdays and Sundays between 11th July and 6th September 2009, from 9am to 7pm each day, with 80 parking spaces provided at the Kent Messenger Group building and 100 places at the George Wilson building on the Estuary View business park, off the A2990 west bound approach to Whitstable from the A299. This is also accessible from the east bound A2990.
Buses will follow a route along Borstal Hill and the full length of the High Street, and will turn at Sea Street/Harbour Street. Bus stops on the inward journey will be near the library and at the Horsebridge, with a stop near the Cromwell Road roundabout for the return journey.
These 180 additional parking spaces should assist in easing some of the congestion in the town centre during the weekends. The existing car parks will still be in use as well as the charity car park at the Whitstable Juniors School in Oxford Street.
Staff will be on hand at the Park and Ride entrance to advise on available parking should this fill to capacity.
